I have the opportunity to volunteer in Addie’s class every Thursday afternoon! It is such a joy to spend that time with her and her classmates. This week I got to share Calvin with them!!
Not only did I get to read them the book, I got to discuss the process of writing a book. Their curriculum talks about how an author writes and publishes a book, how fun is that?!? So we talked about how we got the idea, wrote out our plan and then the book. Then we talked about the editing process, choosing an illustrator and publishing a book. It was so fun being able to talk with these kids about the process!
After our talk and reading, I gave the kids an opportunity to do something kind. They made notes and pictures for nursing home resident. They enjoyed this!
